I've got 3 of the Nikons, and for around $150, they're darn good scopes. One is on my 300 Weatherby, one is on me Knight ML, and one on the AR15....Believe me, they'll handle recoil...lol!!!

I have no experience with the Rifleman line.:wave:

I've got two Nikons and they are both pretty darn good glass for the money. I can't tell you about the Rifleman as I have not looked through one.

Same situation here... no problems with the Nikons I've got.

i am not a fan of the rifleman series of scopes. marginal optics at best but does have a great warantee. i think they are over priced for what you get concidering for the same price range in the Nikon or even the 3200 elites you get much better glass, coatings and adjustments.

I have heard the glass on the Pro staff is way more superior than that on the Rifleman. Also, the Bushnell 3200's are hard to beat for the money. I have a 4x Prostaff on my 10/22 and am very happy with it so far.

I would buy the Nikon. If I'm not mistaken, the adjustments on the rifleman are like the ones on the old vari-x 2; which are what they call "friction". It's just me, but when I adjust one, I want to hear it click. You can cout clicks to know how far to go and with these you have to look at the dial and estimate exactly what 2 moa is and how far you need to turn.

they are 1/2 MOA friction adjustments and the glass coating is the old magnesiumfloride and only multi coated on the exterior lens at that. i'm not saying they don't hold their POI and aren't good enough glass, i'm just saying that for the same money you can get a lot better IMO
