Just looking at my calendar here, there is a lot of gun hunting going on and coming up. That's been a trend as of late. (Anyone remember sending in their 4x6 card filled out telling MDC exactly where you wanted kill a doe if you were lucky enough to win their lotto???) I'm believe AR's are starting to make choosy hunters and is altering the brown-it's-down reputation anyone active in online forums could attest MO has. So, now we're in the early stage of "lookin' for horn" in rifle season, most of the state has to and would like to. Well let's hunt them then! But, let's not hunt them to the point of exhaustion because we can be in the woods from November 14 through December 29. WHAT if, using this calendar year, we had a 3 day hunt Nov 14/15/16, another the 20/21/22 and a Nov 26/27/28/29 and a Muzzleloader season week one or two December with a concurrent doe season, or something to split rifle up. If you did, I think the impact would be awesome. Spread the hunting pressure, allow hunters the opportunity to take a 3-4 day weekend once or twice, give the deer a chance to settle down, and allow communities like a lot North of I-70 a chance to restock and make the most off hunters returning on a more scheduled routine?
