I shot an eight pt the last day of rifle season. It was 15 minutes before dark and i heard a stick break in front to my right. I was in a ladder stand and the wind changed direction mid hunt directly to where the deer usually come from. Good thing he came from the opposite direction. The cedars were too thick to see through but i anticipated something to come through. I don't see many bucks and usually small ones so i pulled up hoping it was a doe and not a spike. I saw 4 one one side and said to myself, ITS A BUCK, and pulled the trigger. It was a good hunt with my brother. He helped me track it, not far. Just had to post. I know its late just havent had time to get it posted. I never saw him during bow season and i've hunted less than 50 yrds away. probably 3 times or better during bow season. Hope you enjoy! Now its time to shoot some quackers and catch a coyote, ****, or the like.
