Just loaded up my first .308s

    In 3 yrs. They are Barnes 150 Gr. TSX BT HP.

    Sounds like a good deer load. I've been tempted to go outside the Sierra box now and again and the Barnes has tempted me a lot. Let us know what groups they get. What muzzle velocity you getting with your loads and with what powder and how much?

    45.5 GRs of IMR 4064 2900 ft/s she loaves these bullets and the weight retention is second to none. The deer I took in 2008 was with these bullets and he went 28 inches straight down.

    I've never heard it described this way....I guess Dead is Dead any way you describe it.:2thumbsup:[/rquote]He went down so fast I couldn't find him in the scope after recoil, thought I M-----, then I saw a movement it was a twitching foot.

    Been there....done that....many a time. Its a good feeling...no tracking involved.

    Ive become fairly partial to the Barnes bullets.
