I know it is illegal to shoot a deer and not call the telecheck. I was wonderin if it is TRUE for the opposite. I have an unused tag and i was wonderin if i had called in to check a deer even though there was no deer to check?? What say you all.

Very close to a conversation we had over a managed hunt. You are given 3 tags and must tag a doe prior to shooting a buck. One could just call in a doe early 1st day and start hunting bucks if they wanted. All boils down to the individuals Ethics and Honesty.

And it always will cause we cannot police everyone unfortuantley :stickfight:

Course I think those kind of people turn hunting for a trophy whitetail into a "mine is bigger than yours" rat race anyways.

Generally there will be employees present at those doe required first hunts and you have to check the doe to them in person before shooting a buck.

Then there are the smart alecks that check that same doe in again. Unless they mark it some how so that they can tell it's was already checked in.

knowing them doesnt mean that I agree with them.
And pleas dont tell me that not reporting them is condoning them and their actions. because the problems it might cause are far worse than If I just leave it alone.

I can't think of any situation where it would be legal to call a government agency and lie to them.
