I think it has more to do with where we are in the breeding cycle this year. We are likely not to the second gobbling peak yet.same here I have been told it has to do with the Barometer..any one go with that theory?
here's another "theory " i heard the other day. Turkeys dont gobble as much as they used to because they are preyed upon by eagles but when the eagles leave the Turkey are in such distress that even a flying buzzard will make them think they are being pressured to they dont gobble anymore to try and hide... Yes that person believed it to be true not joking
I would like to least hear one !!!!! But damn if they are not hushed mouth this morning. But like you I got till 1 and the rest of the season. This frigging bird won't shut up . I have only called twice in the last 25 minutes. He is cracking me up. Lol
Had 3 sneak in behind me as I was turned the other way listening to one gobble the opposite direction. Those 3 never made a peep coming in. LOL well that is turkey hunting at its best.I would like to least hear one !!!!! But damn if they are not hushed mouth this morning. But like you I got till 1 and the rest of the season.
