If chronic wasting disease is so fatal, why aren't hunters finding more dead deer in the woods. Answer: CWD is a slow, stealthy killer.

CWD and CWD management is a joke in the Mid-west and Eastern part of the country. The money spent on testing for it and trying to manage it is one of the great fleecing opportunities the outdoor community has ever been subjected to and had to pay for.

In Missouri the numbers of CWD cases does not appear to be that large according to test results. Plus there are not a lot of hunters in the woods for two thirds of the year. And like Sanders said, predators will find a dead deer before hunters do.
