Hunted TEXAS in February
I was able to go hunt it's F.E. Hill Ranch in February and boy oh boy do they have the deer. I was on a management hunt and was thankful to take this 6.5 year old short tined ten point. I have never seen so many deer in my life. If you are looking to extend your season, or hunt TX at anytime I would highly recommend F.E. Hill ranch. The hunting is some of the most fun you will have chasing white tails.
Now The further south you go the smaller deer bodies are so you have to get use to that but the hunting is too much fun....

There are farmers out there, who keep a deer rifle in their tractor or combine, and shoot doe on sight, just as soon as they get to the edge of the field where it won't interfere with their harvesting or plowing. Let em lay, best doe is a dead one.
I spent February doing management snow shoveling.
