I put my first trail cameras out yesterday. I have two on mineral licks and one overlooking a clover plot. How often should I check the cams for pics? I live on the property so not like I have to travel and I have been all over the place shredding, cutting brush and mowing trails so the deer are used to me being around. sometimes they don't even run they just look at me on the tractor or ranger. I also ordered two new cams, I got the brownings on trappers recommendations. I got the dark ops ones. They should be here today so I will get them up and give a report when I find out how they operate. I know the cameras have to be up for a while before I check for pics but I am like a kid at Christmas. I also would like to check and see if I need to change angles or put them in a different tree or what. Thanks for all the help!

I've checked them as often as 1 week and I've also checked them as little as 1 month. You should only check them when you want to replenish the mineral sight, so it just depends on how much they are using it.

It depends on the location . If it's in a low impact area that I can drive up close to without disturbing deer and leaving too much scent , I check them every two weeks . If it's in a more secluded area that I have to walk a long ways to get to and may hunt near , and don't want to leave a lot of scent , or educate the deer , once a month .

Pretty glad I don't have this option. I would be ITCHING to check them too often probably..... I check mine when Im up that way. Not too often this time of year.

First thing I do when I get to my place is unload and start the atv, grab a beer, and burn off to grab the SD cards..... :)

It takes me 2.5 - 3 hours to get to mine, so it's not very often. 2 weeks was probably the shortest time frame between checks. It's usually a few months.
