Hornady #4 manual says 2600 fps tops, so I'd probably run 2500fps, if I found a load that shot well, and go with that. I don't run 'em real hot anyhow

It's no barn burner, but old Ken Waters didn't want it to be. His "Pet Loads" books are excellent reads, even if I disagree with some of this observations and conclusions, it's still fun to read, and I DO learn stuff from him.
Actually, with the poor BC and sectional density, I don't know if 250 yards is CONSISTENTLY possible, but that's where I'd run it, if the accuracy was there.
