Kind of a cool find at this stage of construction.
I would have left it alone, but it was a little too
    close for comfort.

A few years ago had one being built on my soffett. I watched it till it got about the size of a softball. Finally got tired of duckin hornets so I kilt 'em. It was kinda cool though.

there was one in it when i scraped it off, it didn't seem
really po'd about it. no larvae, i guess nothing to protect.

I was hunting a few years back and found a hornets nest...and not to high off the ground....we thought about getting it but it warmed up before our trip was over and they were a little to active for me to mess with it....our next trip up there we went and checked to see if it was still there...nope..gone...I figured it was in somebody`s den or garage....they sure are cool lookin though...
