Read an article that Hornady is to stop making the Light Magnums. Apparently they cost them a fortune to make. If you were to take one apart, you couldn't make the powder and bullet fit back in the casing...need some special press to do so. They will instead introduce a new product...Special something it is called. The 140 grain .270 will have a copper bullet...won't expand nearly as early. Looks like I will be moving down to the 130 grain (has some lead in it...mushrooms much sooner on impact and increases the damage). Might mean a slight drop from the 3100 fps I'm used to.

Now I know why the shelves have had everything but the Light Mags I was looking for.

I dont use the Hornadays light Mags but I do the 270 140 BTSP's. for pure hunting I just like the good ol Winchester Power Point but it does not group at longer distance as well as the Hornadays = ing more confidence in the shot. I have a couple of Hornaday boxes left but at $25 per box thats pricey. something has to give
