Lots of damage and a few lives lost last night from Golden City all the way up to Jefferson City.

We had a tornado miss us by just half a mile a couple of weeks ago.

Praying for the best for everybody.

In SWMO, we had one hit the neighbors 1/2 mile down from our place on Tuesday. It's been a tragic year with this weather. Praying for safety and wisdom to all.

Where Ellis/Southwest meet 54 is a mess in Jeff. We always stop at this gas station on our way back from the lake.

I'm just about 25 west of Golden City on the other side of the county. A friend of mines parents were two of the three people killed in that tornado. Their farm was hit directly and from what I've heard this morning it was absolute destruction with no buildings left standing.

We did have another brief touchdown about 8 miles sw of me but fortunately no structures or people were involved. I'm a county storm spotter and I'll be glad when this storm season is over as it's wearing on my last nerve. We've already had lots of building damage in the county with straight line winds from several earlier storms and now this.

Prayers for those lost, definitely believe it would have been worse if it wasn't for those who work to detect and warn us about these storms, hats off to those folks, they have certainly saved lives this season.

I used to go there almost every week, and a couple times went to that Sonic next door.

A friends funeral business about three blocks from the Capital building got hit.

That Sonic is about 1/3 of a mile from our house, but we were LUCKY and it somehow missed us. The Chevrolet dealership just behind Sonic took MAJOR damage and the path from that Sonic toward the northeast to the Missouri River is pretty incredible. Was lucky on both ends as it missed our Laboratory by a few hundred yards. We had one broken window at the Lab, but only the outer pane. Our building is on the east side of the old Penitentiary which lost two significant sections of the wall and had major damage to some buildings. Just west of the wall is MAJOR damage, including the funeral home pictured above. Still hard to get our heads around. SO thankful there was no loss of life here in Jeff.

Riley Chevrolet said 500 vehicles got hit. Some flipped on top of each other totaled I’m sure.
I guess after insurance settles a big salvage yard would buy them or think individuals would be able to?
Yes, there was NOTHING left of Riley. Some of the images from there are pretty mind blowing. A truck bent in half. Cars on top of cars. Massive building damage. Just terrible. Definitely a lot of good car parts to be obtained there. Just a shame.
I am glad to see everyone here near the path of these storms is physically unharmed. Everything else is just stuff and can be replaced. If you ever find yourself being hit by a large tornado and loose everything you own but life, you can feel pretty damn lucky.

Were you affected by the 2011 Joplin tornado?
Sounds like Dayton, OH got hit pretty hard last night. They were using snow plows to remove debris from the interstate.
