Went and scouted one of our honeys this evening and boy get I get greeted with a warm welcome. I pulled into the drive just as a couple hundred snows and mallards were dive bombing this little water hole. Now I am going to have a hard time concentrating at work while waiting hopeless for Saturday.

Well, it looks like they been there for a couple weeks keeping that large of a hole open. It also helps the pond faces north/south. I wish I would of went and checked this spot last weekend, but we already had a spot on the river that has been treating us pretty nice. Whats even better about this pond is we have access to the cornfield that is right behind the pond. :woot:

that wasnt all the birds using it, they still had plenty of time to come in there before dark. and it doesnt look 100% unfrozen

The birds can keep an open hole in spots that you wouldnt think was possible. Snows seem like they NEVER stop moving around and they can keep a big hole open

I wish they allowed hunting at waterfield. or the new lake off of I-70. Years ago we used to be able to hunt the bean/cornfield behind waterfield before it became a subdivision.
