I heard someone talking about this very concoction yesterday. What is tonquin musk?

My other question would have to be the obligatory... Who comes up with this stuff?:D

I'm trying my first batch of this now. I used 3 sets of buck parts and 100 proof vodka. The advise I got was the longer it sits in the vodka, the better it breaks down. So I put the parts in the vodka back last winter and have let it sit in the basement on a shelf. I intend to add the glycerin to it soon.
I was told equal parts of vodka and glycerin. The alcohol is a solvent and breaks the parts down, so that is why I haven't added the glycerin yet. Glycerin will add volume to the solution and takes on the odor of the parts.
The musk is used as just a adder to the mixture to add a little pop to the odor. I don't think there is an exact amount to add but just a cap full.
I will have a bunch of this when done, I didn't want to rush it so I am letting it sit a little longer.
Will let you know next year how it works.
