Just got of the phone with my Buddy down Arkansas, he said he shot a nice buck. Went down to look for his arrow...no blood. Found his arrow 15 yards from where the deer was in the opposite direction no blood on the Rage or shaft, but the fletching had some so so blood on it. Did he hit in no mans land? Any opinions? I didn't know what to tell him

A few years back I shot a young doe right where you are supposed to hit them....right behind the shoulder. She was only about 15 yards from me. The arrow sliced right through her. She jumped at the hit and ran about 30 yards and stopped. I thought I had missed the way she was acting. She stood there for about 2 minutes and just laid down and died on the spot. Hardly any blood at all from her or along the path she ran. I went and looked at my arrow and it was clean as a whistle except for a couple of hairs on the fletchings. Once I opened her up she gushed out enough blood to float a boat. If she had ran out of sight I would have thought I had completely missed her. Todays bows are really fast and with the razor heads we use they slide through a deer especially a small one a bit to quick.

Yep. I shot a small one one time and thought I missed the way she ran off. Went and looked and blood everywhere.. I would at least go back and look in the morning.
