Naw I have pics with him next to really young deer.He is small body and tight skinned.Usually old bucks look more fat in MS ag country like this one,I think these 2 could be 4.5.Me and my buddy who is a biologist I send my trail cam pics could be wrong but ones in past were filled out more from front through their tail ends. Its all crap shoot but I'm 90% sure he is 3.5 but time will tell you may be right and I'll bust himolder than 3.5 IMO
Yeah I was just replying to ole 20ft.I can't tell age of your second buck but he looks big in the horns for sureI was referring to the buck I posted. Agree buck you posted appears to be 3 1/2 nice buck
whatever you think, I would say that there is still a good chance that buck is 4.5. makes no difference.Naw I have pics with him next to really young deer.He is small body and tight skinned.Usually old bucks look more fat in MS ag country like this one,I think these 2 could be 4.5.Me and my buddy who is a biologist I send my trail cam pics could be wrong but ones in past were filled out more from front through their tail ends. Its all crap shoot but I'm 90% sure he is 3.5 but time will tell you may be right and I'll bust him View attachment 144705 View attachment 144707
I just don't see it following the normal rule of thumb his neck is skinny and attached high,no gut, long legs, weighs prolly 170lbs.Always a possibility but I would always use caution with a buck with that much potential and at least give him another year.I think that's the best way to go about it is if unsure let em grow.6-7 years ago I would be hanging a stand trying to kill him lolwhatever you think, I would say that there is still a good chance that buck is 4.5. makes no difference.
that's where we differ, he appears to clearly have a gut???I just don't see it following the normal rule of thumb his neck is skinny and attached high,no gut, long legs, weighs prolly 170lbs.Always a possibility but I would always use caution with a buck with that much potential and at least give him another year.I think that's the best way to go about it is if unsure let em grow.6-7 years ago I would be hanging a stand trying to kill him lol
