This sounds like a smart strategy...If the buck is following me I might get a shot at it also.

any centerfire rifle, bore sighted is fine
    Acorn Cruncher
    Butt Out
Scent Lok and all scent proof products you can buy
Don't worry about tags, you can use the landowners tags
Don't worry about blaze orange, the deer will see you.
Coolers/Ziplocks/Ice/Salt to pack your meat as air tight and moist as possible while it ages
Drugs and Alcohol to keep you from being cold and bored in the field.
2x4's nails and a hammer to make a tree stand tonight in the dark so you don't spook any deer.
Big spotlight in case you don't see any deer during the daytime
Don't worry about trash bags just leave your trash on the ground, it is all biodegradable
Corn, Acron Rage, Cmere deer, and any other food product you can find to attract a deer to where you want to shoot it

I don't have my list with me so I may be missing some things.

    Hope this helps...

Personally I like the .416 Rigby! It's got a little more "punch" than the .338, and less recoil than the .50BMG.
It's gotta be the perfect deer round!!

I like the thought but how many shells will they hold? I figure I should need to have at least a 20 round mag?
