I am consumed with bow hunting right now, but just last night I mentioned to my wife that we need to go to the range and start shooting some .22's. I like to start her with a .22 LR and after several hundred rounds work her into the .243 gradually.
Probably when you mounted the scope. If you buy quality gear, that's all it should take :tup:Can't remember the last time I had to shoot more than 1 or 2 rounds to check zero on either of our deer rifles.
Same here Randy. I just went through my safe to choose which one plus a backup rifle and will take both to my range to fire those one or two shots just to make sure they are ready to make that one shot one kill this rifle season. Might give the 260 Rem another chance to get a second free lunch from Meller. Can't remember the last time I had to shoot more than 1 or 2 rounds to check zero on either of our deer rifles.
Who really cares what TV hunters do?Do most people shoot at deer using a bench with a sand bag?
i see the TV rifle hunters hold their rifle against the side of a tree trunk or standing setting gun on shooting stick instead of sitting and resting gun on sandbag.
Saw one TV hunting gal shoot off-hand at a walking elk at over 200 yards, dropped in its tracks. He down
This X2. If your scope won't hold zero, trash it and buy a real one. Can't remember the last time I had to shoot more than 1 or 2 rounds to check zero on either of our deer rifles.
Nail on the head! I rather cry once over $500 than losing the buck of a lifetime.Probably when you mounted the scope. If you buy quality gear, that's all it should take
Damn straight. Modern optics and cartridges are for cheating pansies. Sharpen those rocks up.Real traditionalist dont rifle hunt they use their self bow
was just wondering as I have never owned a deer rifle. I take it you all carry your bench and sandbags to where ever you are going to hunt? :wave1:Who really cares what TV hunters do?
Or at least go read with a patch and ball front stuffer.Real traditionalist dont rifle hunt they use their self bow
