Look into Lake Washington it is really good. Grenada Lake I haven’t fished it but I hear it’s badass. All the guides will tell you around March is best time for the spring time fishing but the best time all year to fish for crappie is actually November down here believe it or not.
Back to Lake Washington. We are going in March. They have some nice cabin rentals an Air BNBs to stay at around the lake and it’s an old ox bow of the Ms river and is a trophy crappie lake and have to be big to keep. We have went before and had a blast and caught some big slabs. That is normal sized folding tables,some hogs on there
Yeah, I have a buddy that used to go down and fish it. He did always have a nice stash of fillets in his freezer.

I’ve been once and my brother has been several times there and to Sardis. I could catch more crappie in any other lake I fished but when you caught one there it was bigger. Bringing home a 2 pound fish was common if fishing for a few days. My brother and a friend always brought back a few 2 pound fish each trip and their biggest went over 3. The water was always cloudy or brown with very limited visibility. Because of that everyone we spoke to said to use orange baits. The lake can get dangerous quick if the wind blows so don’t try to ride out a storm. As of a few years ago when I was there the length limit for crappie was 12”. Fish had to be over that not just 12”. Rumor was the fine was $175 per short fish and getting checked at the ramp seemed to be very common. Take a long handled net with you. The fish are too big to swing into the boat and you will rip the jig out of their mouth if you get too aggressive with them. One thing I noticed of the area is the people are very nice and polite.

If you want to get the boat out and wack on some crappie, you don't have to drive all the way to Mississippi to do that. We caught four limits in two hours yesterday. Had fresh crappie for lunch today! I'd skip hauling the boat and just drive down in a gas sipper and pay a guide to put me on the meat if I were going to Mississippi.

They will do it in style too with a party barge and ice chest with all your favorite beverages
Not on the big 3. I’d like to fish Washington sometime.

3 Pound Crappie Fishing on YouTube has some videos on Grenada recently. The earlier spawn, warmer weather are huge draws for southern fishing and make for a nice early spring trip. One thing to remember is you don’t go to MS to just catch crappie. You go there to catch big crappie.
