had a couple of hours today to get the boys out of the house so me and my 4 and 2 year old went looking for whatever we could find. I packed the 20 guage just in case. anyway we get out of the truck and a big ole fox squirl runs up a tree and starts dancing around it. I tell my 4 year old to walk around the tree. He didnt know what he was doing but it worked. big ole thing fell to the ground and now he thinks he is the greatest squirl hunter ever.
we are walking through the farm and we find a big rub and we studied it for a while. They were finding deer tacks everywhere and were so excited everytime the found one. they would holler "Daddy another deer track". needless to say there were no more squirls around to be shot. they were all
eepwall: .
we came across a big pile of deer poop and I told them what it was. A little later I here my 2 year old holler "O no, I stepped in deer poop" :hysterical: Priceless.
We found some areas of flattend grass that my 4 year old was curious about and I was able to explain how deer bed in the tall grass.
on the way back to the truck we jumed up about 7 deer and watched them flag and run off. They were amazed at all that was going on. it was nice for them to see the deer that were making all that sign I was showing them.
they have been shooting squirls all evening with what ever the can pretend to be a gun.
I think I even heard one say that he shot a big ole buck.
