I know that chickens will give a setting hen eggs . They just climb on top and drop one . Do turkeys do the same thing? It seems unreasonable that one hen can produce a dozen eggs in a couple of weeks . One of the conservation agents reported seeing 24 eggs in one nest . There is no way that one hen could have done it .

Usually will lay one egg a day in the nest till the clutch is layed ....They dont start staying on the nest till the clutch is complete --8 -12 eggs or so

Sometimes more than one hen will lay eggs in the same nest and share sitting duties

From what I recall reading, they can average almost one per day. Don't think they will do more than about 15 by themselves, so 24 was probably more than one hen.
