I have seen alot of hens wandering around by themselves in north MO. kinda makes me think they are looking for a nesting site.

Yea, I had to go to Pickneyville Il this morning and I also saw a number of single hens walking around. But, I also saw a Boss tom with several hens strutting at the junction of 150 and 154. I saw a few single gobbblers between St. Genevieve, Mo and Perryville along I 55.
Yesterday I went in the woods for a while and saw one lone hen heading up the hill to a field edge about 1l;30 am
