went out and did a little tree rat hunting.found a good one laying in a fence line dead as a door nail in his bed.my guess heat stroke.looked like he had been dead about a day.had a lot of mass couldn't put my hand around his bases.his g2 were done i could feel the points through the velvet, main beams were pretty well hardened up also. a little soft on the points yet but basically done for the year.sure would like to get those velvet horns off of him.but you talk about stinkin and this white boy has a very weak stomach:rotfl:thinkin about going out and trying this evening anyways though before supper.at least getting some pics.i'm sure i had passed him a couple of times last year, but won't be this year.hope to this heat stays away.they say heat kills more bigger and older bucks.i'm ready for some cooler weather.
