    It's a good skill to have. I was really in to it when I was younger and then sort of fell away form it. Now that I've got the trout fishing bug again, I have been using my fly tying equipment that I bought 15 years ago to tie up a bunch of jigs. It's kind of like riding a bike. Once you get it down, you really don't lose the ability to tie a decent fly and can do it at anytime. It does take some practice starting out though.
