First youth hunt
It was both of our first youth hunt and I know I was more nervous. Trying to remember everything and setup the blind was something. He was shooting his gun well but I wasn't sure what he'd do with a moving target. He rose to the challenge and put a big ol doe down his first sit ever! This doe came out around 530 and stayed 200 yards out for a good 30 min. My anticipation was rising and he seemed totally cool. Finally it wondered toward our blind and turned broadside at 60 yards. I gave him the ok and he took his time care of the rest. We were both so excited after the shot but I made him wait 40 min before we tracked the deer. It was a great shot and ran less than 100 yards. 7 years old and got his first deer. Very proud dad.
