First time to see this

Neighbor was brush hogging last weekend and bumped 3 hens off of nest. 2 nest were 50 yards apart and the other was a few hundred yards away. He didn't think much about it until he saw baby turks this week. First nest went 9/11, second nest 10/13 and last nest 7/7. Never seen em hatch this late but that gives us a chance. This was in Tx county. While we were out looking for deer, we saw 3 hens with 15 or so poults I would have expected hatched back in June. This was in Wright county a couple of miles away.

Better late than never .
That’s impossible. The worlds foremost turkey expert, followed up by the worlds foremost turkey googler says that hens don’t nest that close together. Like EVER.
Glad you have some seed there.

the 2 nest that were close to each other were in a draw on the backside of a small pond. He only hogs it every 2-3 years. I was surprised to see the large clutches. From what I had read 2nd and 3rd attempts were smaller than normal. Who knows the weather was weird this spring.

Good news is there are tons of little green grass hoppers in the area.
