Thanks Meller for posting the pic.

Sunday about noon this dog came out onto my field, my daughter wasn't sure what it was, thought it may be a big squirrel. I peaked to see what she was looking at and said give me the gun.:praying: It was chasing mice in the field and was further than I had sighted in the gun for but I figured I'd see how good it hit at 100 yards. I whistled to get his attention and dropped him, 101 yards exactly. I was pumped.

For the life of me, I don't know how you guys skin those nasty smellin' things. I was gonna, but couldn't keep from puking, so he joins the circle of life.:grouphug:

A scope is on my Christmas list, good thing it was high noon.:)

I do have a question on him. I noticed his bottom two canines were pointed straight out away from his jaw, is this normal?

I've seen those teeth pointed outward before but not straight out. Nice shot!

And you are definitely right about the stench. Several years ago coyote pelts were bringing $50. I shot one (during deer season) and was wondering who I was going to get to skin it because I knew I would react just as you did. My cousin came along just as I was about to put it in the trunk of my car. He told me he would give me 40 for it (I hadn't mentioned the skinning job). SOLD!! At that point I might have paid him to take it if he had bargained a little more. :D

Well, I must fess up. Just starting to get out of my blind (that means trying to struggle up out of my chair) when I spotted a coyote about 200 yards away. He quickly went out of sight but I looked well to his right and another one was coming out of the brush headed straight for me. Then he meandered over to the right and kept closing the distance. I leaned over about as far as I could without falling out of the chair, tried to raise my gun so I wouldn't blow a hole in my blind then tried to steady my monopod and couldn't get 'er done in that awkward position, saw the cross-hairs pass by the yote as he neared 70 yards so I pulled the trigger just to get some relief. :D I shot right behind him which didn't surprise me one iota as that's where the cross-hairs were. DOH! :D

The show that dumb thing put on afterward was worth the powder. I've never seen a more confused coyote. :D

[rquote=1519120&tid=105875&author=Bronco Brian]Musta got that breech plug figured out?[/rquote]

Yep, I backed it out, unloaded, cleaned, and put it back together. Wasn't as bad as I feared. Now I know to turn the plug in until it bottoms. I think the teflon tape makes it turn harder and I didn't know where to stop.

Again, thanks for the help guys.

UC, too bad you didn't get that on film.
