Well there definitely isn't any drought conditions there this year.
What area in Knox?

I saw on a FB page for Missouri hunting that there was 25 dead deer found in Clark county?
It's plenty dry in Knox, Lewis, Clark. Those spring floods are long gone...

yeah been hearing that, seems awful early for it to start but I guess with the floods spots drying up and causing the flies could be a bad year. Hoping not, we found 11 deadhead bucks and a one doe this spring on a shed hunt from last year. that hurts the buck maturity on my hunting spot.

It's that time of year. Happens every year all over the Midwest. Some years are worse than others. I learned a long time ago that we can't beat mother nature (hence my stance on CWD).

On a positive note, based on the influx of food and water this year there should be a lot of deer reaching max potential.

Drowning itself? Not purposely of course.

11 bucks? Holy mother that's a lot of bucks for one property. Were those all dead around the same area or spread out all over the property? Are there any bucks left? geez.

yeah I knew I wasnt seeing the number of bucks that I generally see all season , this property runs about mile long with a creek in the middle and were spread through the property. we only killed one 150 last year off of it but you could tell something was going on. just like 2012 they were alive and roaming come from sept elk hunting and wham all sightings went down.

Could they have been from multiple years or do you guys think they all died last year?

All but one was what I would say from last year but I didn't count that one in the count. There was three I would call shooter bucks, a couple more would have been shooters this year and the rest were up and comers . I knew something was up by November , not many rubs ,not much grunting and hadn't heard a fight going on all season. I knew my target buck was still alive from seeing him a couple of times and as a rule we just go straight in and straight out of stands not to bother them, didn't figure it was that many though. Hopefuly some moved in and took over the prime area. we shall see.

Some have been reported southeast of Edina.

Then fell into a hole in the river and panicked. It didn't drown itself on purpose but it also wasn't right in the head.

Yea hopefully other bucks will move in to fill the habitat voids. I didn't think last year was that dry to have EHD be an issue. Guess certain areas like yours might've really been extremely dry. Which county are you in?
Did that deer drown? Video doesn't show what actually happens to the deer in the end.
