I watched a Tom fly down every morning before work this week and meetup with a group of 10-15 hens in a cattle field. This morning Mayson and I setup where they had been hanging out and waited. The boss tom gobbled 50-60 times off the roost 250 yds out in the fog. He flew down and skirted the decoys about 50 yds out heading towards his large group of hens. I softly yelped on the Vector for 15 minutes or so and eventually the whole flock worked back over the hill into our decoys. Mayson shot the Tom off the jake decoy after he beat it up for a few minutes. Beautiful morning to enjoy the outdoors. 3-4 year old, 10.5 inch beard, 7AM, Cole County, Mo
Goodluck this season fellas.
