Hey yall.....I'm new to the duck hunting and was thinking about building a duck blind of some kind, but not sure what all it needs. Any ideas and pictures? plans?

What kind of area are you hunting? Permanent or temporary blind? Boat blind?

Was kinda thinking temporary/portable......we have permission to hunt a number of strip pits and ponds that hold a lot of ducks.

I would get a layout if i were you, just make sure its brushed

I usually throw one together on sight with materials on sight. Like tree limbs, grass/weeds, rocks, etc. Just make it so you can swing your gun but still be hidden. If you want to you can put camouflage burlap up first and then put natural stuff in front of it. Then you can pull up the burlp and go or if you don't use burlap you can leave it when you wan't to go.

we hunted strip pits in IL, and we used layout blinds :cheers:


there was plenty of weeds and tall grass to brush it in, easily

yep if theres dry ground then a layout is the best...
