There used to be some past Granite City in Illinois but I haven't been that way in years
With the high water in all those bottoms until mid summer I'm pretty confident they were unable to get any sunflowers planted. Last time I spoke with Timmy they were hoping to have the water out in time to get 90 day corn in for the ducks and the sunflowers would have had to be in way before that.
Back out this morning after a single bird day yesterday. Hoping for a little more action and a little better shooting today.
Where are you hunting today?
Hunting Settlers Ford CA, Creighton, MO (South of KC)
Not much action this morning. Saw 20ish birds but most skirted through at 50ish plus yards. Not much shooting heard this morning.
Wanna try MTC (Marias Temps Clair) some time but we were back home visiting family in a Clinton, MO this weekend.
I got 4 Doves Sunday....saw a lot of them in Groups, missed more than I care to mention!...those little Buggers are fast and smart!
Been there done that.
MTC seldom has excellent hunting past day 3...usually its the opener as good and quickly starts to fade. Corn is being cut all around that part of St Charles county now which may disperse birds even more...
I have shot 100% on doves before. I don't know what would have happened had I shot at a second bird.
Just be lucky you can all get out and enjoy the time in the field
Dang gunnit, I went back today and they are out. If anyone hit the Chesterfield store off Long road you got me!
