I used to duck hunt some ponds that had a whole family of them. They were busy things.
You don't want to see them in your stretch of creek if you fish.Never knew any were around, but it would be neat to see them do work on the creek.
Looks like a tank of an otter.

Nothing but baitfish in this small of a creek. Those do come I handy for catching the big fish though. You don't want to see them in your stretch of creek if you fish.
Looks like he was heading from the creek to my neighbor's ponds. There are two ponds just across the road where the otter was headed.Fish eatin machine!!! They'll wipe out a stretch of stream or pond.
I'll get into what I've seen them do.... take a few bites out of catfish and leave them on the bank.. No doubt they are "fun to watch".... but that's what you-tube is for......I helped release them in the '80's. Asked how long it would be before there would be enough to trap? I was told they was just a novelty and there would never be enough.
Not going to get into what I have seen them do and it is not always them eating.

The Big Grin don't like getting wet.
I'll have my uncle come in and trap this fall/winter if they're still around.I'll get into what I've seen them do.... take a few bites out of catfish and leave them on the bank.. No doubt they are "fun to watch".... but that's what you-tube is for......
