When fighting Nice Fish if they want to run hard I will drop my Rod and let them pull Line.I was told I shouldn't do this that I should use the Rod.

    What do you do?

always keep the tip of your rod up, loosen the drag a bit more.....maybe...

Leave it up, thats what the drag is for! Also NEVER switch sides when the fish is close you can pull the hook out, trust me it cost me a lot of money in the Bud Light Tournament a few years ago.

Tip your rod to the fish, and you don't let the rod do the work and all the pressure goes on the line. Might as well horse it in if you're going to tip the rod. :peepwall:

Use braided line like I do, and you can horse them all in. :D I don't give drag to very many fish. :D

I only dip the rod when it appears that they are going to jump.
