How far from a public road does someone have to be to hunt/shoot an animal?

Thanks for your help.

Missouri State Statute RsMO 571.030, Unlawful Use of Weapons, states the following: "A person commits the crime of unlawful use of weapons if (s)he knowingly:...discharges of shoots a firearm at a mark, at any object, or at random along or across a pubic highway...or from a motor vehicle..."
The Missouri Wildlife Code, 3 CSR 10-7.405 (3) states the following: "No person shall take or attempt to take any wildlife from or across a public roadway..."
This would include the public road right-of-way and the actual right-of-way varies by road type and location. Generally, a road right-of-way is the land that runs along the road (the ditch) that is owned and/or maintained by the city, county or state responsible for the maintenance of the road.
