The deer didn't cooperate but the soup was good.

    6 medium potatos.
    1/2 stick of butter
    1/2 cup flour
    6 cups of milk
    8-12 strips of bacon
1/2 to 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup of sour cream

Bake 6 medium to large potatos
When potatos are done take them out to cool. While they are cooling fry the bacon and crumble.

As soon as the potatos are cool enough to handle cut in half and use a spoon to scoop the potato out of the skins and set aside for later.

Melt butter in a large non stick pan or dutch over. Stir in flour and cook for one minute until smooth and bubbly. Add milk slowly while stirring so the flour mixture doesn't form chunks. Continue stirring and heating until mixture thickens. Add potatos, cheese, and bacon. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook while stirring until hot then add sour cream and serve. I like some fresh green onions on top of mine too.
