So i found a pretty good deal on a American Hunter Deer Feeder at dunhams the other week. I will be putting it out this weekend hopefully to see if i can get the turkeys that go past one of my cameras/food plots every so often do be more consistent. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also how fast do you think ill go throught 225lbs of corn in the feeder? It will be setup for 4 times a day 2 of those times it will spin for 15 seconds the other 2 for 10 seconds

Two times a day for 8 to 10 seconds worked better for me. Set it to long or often you tend to feed the squirrels and night time visits from racoons. The squirrels will bite the hearts off the kernels of corn leaving them almost useless for nutrition.

Yea my Plan was to have it go off at 7am for 15 seconds then 8am for 10, then 4pm for 15 and 5pm for 10. What do you think of that?

Having that thing spinning 4 times during daylight will probably be pelting turkeys with corn having them running for the hills!
I'd do it at daylight then mid day for 10 seconds until you find out what time they come and how long the corn lasts and then adjust up or down. You don't need to keep their bellies full, you just need to keep their interest so they show up on your camera.

Assuming you do know the almighty MDC made feeders illegal in CWD counties. Unless it is with 50 feet or something of an occupied residence.

That is what I’ve heard too. But then I wonder why the heck cracked corn has been used as chicken (and turkey) feed for decades. By volume, cracked corn is at most 10% hearts.

I spin in the morning for 2 or 3 sec, same in evening. I'm feeding turkey, hogs, and deer in FL and there are always critters there, plus a million racoons..

8 secs is around 5-6# from my feeder

The amount it throws per any given run time is dependent on several things. Spinner plate diameter, fin size on the plate, distance from the throat of the feeder to the plate etc. There is no definite answer without trial and error. Hell, back when they were legal in the entire state, I’ve seen some that would dump 30 plus pounds in 10 seconds if you wanted them to.

That’s crazy I bet mine doesn’t let out over 1# in 8 seconds. My spinner plate is pretty close to the funnel though because the motor was getting overloaded and quit spinning when I had it down farther.

Mine got a pretty good gap and then u get these $astards that spin corn out for there little buddies on the ground !

Way to much corn dispersed. Omit one in the morning and evening. You're feeding much more wildlife than deer and turkey....in my opinion.😊

As someone noted better be sure in a county it's allowed in.
If/when the ra****s get bad, scatter a half dozen dpt's around general area with sardines or dog food for bait.

yea i was thinking about putting a cage around the dispenser, I've seen pics of one with like fencing somehow attached and they said it worked. Im gonna put it up then go back and check the camera it will be near and see what happened, hopefully some turkeys show up, rather feed them then the deer atm lol, is it in only CWD county's it not allowed? If so we aren't in a CWD county
