Probably got scared up there by dogs or coyotes, then figured that people are less scary than a pack of dogs, and hung around.

It was still a pretty cool expierence. It was eating out of our hands and letting us pet it. The kids loved it.

It would have hung around but this was no place for a deer. I called conservation and they took it out to some conservation land and let it go.

Yeah, it was actually a button buck the antlers had not broke thru the skin but you could feel them when you pet it on the head.

I know, Cant get them to walk by while in a tree stand but they will come right up onto my porch.

when my wife's family bought their farm over 30 years ago, a neighbor had "adopted" a button buck...it came around every now and then begging for food...it was finally shot when it was one plus or so, it was a bit to "friendly" during rut...
