We have about 800 acres of ground in Southeast Missouri. About 110 acres is crop and the rest is timber.

How many hunters should be allowed to hunt? Thoughts about acreage per hunter?

Set your harvest goals based on deer numbers and determine how many hunters from that. All 800 acre tracts are not create equal

It all depends on your harvest goals are and why you hunt. If you do it for the social aspect then allow more hunters. If you want to grow bucks that express their full potential then limit the number. If it were me there would be myself and 3 to 4 other hunters with like minded hunting practices. I might even let dad come hunt since he got his new world famous fanny pack! Lol

QDMA says 75 acres per hunter is the magic number to keep deer from changing their patterns (once they realize they're being hunted). Where this # came from? Not sure. We have between 6-8 on the 500 acres we've got.
