Deer activity

My new house looks over a large bean field. I have been up since daylight and didn't see a deer till after 9. Then a group at 10 and 2 shooters at 11. Think it's the time of year or are we really missing the best time of mid day the way most people hunt morning and evening? I have seen a lot of good bucks move mid day but never shot one. These are almost all bucks I have been seeing very few does during the day most are late evening.this picture is after 11 of a big Nontypical.

I think its normal for the most part. I have been seeing deer in bean fields in my area mid-day as well. I hope you have permission to hunt that field. Would be interesting to get a set up on coyotes in that field.
They bed close to there food this time of year, there just picking up lunch!! Get a iPhone attachment of a spotting scope already!

My buddy has the iscope I need to get that from him.
The moonrise was at 9am today plus the new moon this past Thursday gets deer moving later in the day. And as much as everyone thinks the moon plays no part in deer movement. I'm a firm believer that it does somewhat have an effect on deer movement second to weather.

deer seldom bed for more than 2 hours before getting up for a while. They like to eat every 6 hours. THE TIMING OF THE MOVEMENTS changes as the moon cycles.About a hour and some change each day.
I check the Moon Phases with my Game Cams and what my Cams say and create these Graphs with my computer. There are 10 categories on this graph so almost 3000 Pix's / 10 = average 30 per category of the phase, so the graphs show when deer get hungry. I usually use the data/time of the 1st pix of the deer because some eat hours LOL

Each category of the phase is 3 days each (30 day month / 10 = 3 days)

then I added the July Month with the graphs

and I believe what HazelVilleBuck said

Can't hunt it. But he's still fun to watch.

Pretty much what I just said.

Come crunch time when one is hunting every day hard they are in tune with the rhythm the other critters are on. Even off season when one is not paying any attention to the moon they see the deer out and about midday and know what the moon is doing.
Even if this were not true it would make one a better hunter just by keeping him in the game.
Moon phases etc are voodoo at best. There is no consistent predictably associated with it.

you would be wrong, but that's okay!
Just give it 39 days and they will be in a brushpile during the day.

yep, those ol pesky major and minor movement periods are just lucky guesses:)

Nothing in the deer woods seems to be absolute, but to say the moon has zero effect on deer movements is at best very stupid.

2 things....

1. Evidently, based on the rules of MWT moon phase does impact movement.

2. 10% more movement is insignificant.
