Will be voted on in November but Kansas is going to recommend 1 Spring bird and suspend fall season for the 3 eastern units. Will the commission pass staff recommendations, we will see.

Kansas wildlife biologists are recommending that?
Kansas wildlife biologists are recommending that?
WONDER WHY THE PROBLEM IS WORSE IN THE EASTERN REGIONS?
Gamegetter, yes

Commission meeting last night.
Did they say why?
Horrible hatches, declining hunter success. Declining tags purchased. Flooding in April-May statewide will affect population for next 5 years.
Well, someone will stop by shortly to let you and the Kansas idiots know that the only thing that kills turkeys is bad habitat and their third birthday. Spring season could be extended to year round and bag limits of 10 legal birds and not hurt the flock or the hunter satisfaction year after year. He sas talked to put near every biologist in the country. He knows what they mean no matter what they say.

Sorry to ruin your day golden boy. You seem like a decent guy too.

Well, you dont understand whats been said, but thats nothin new.

But, no, lowering the ks limit to 1 bird wont do anything to help turkey numbers. Its a completely ignorant idea.

Evidently Gamegetter wants a 1 bird limit in MO. Brilliant...
Hawk: Do you hunt fall Turkeys???
Hawk: Do you hunt fall Turkeys???
I have in the past. I still will when I get the chance, which really means if I break up a flock doing deer stuff Ill grab a gun and tag.
1 bird in the spring. That will give them more gobblers till winter. Sounds like a genius plan to make more turkeys.

Excellent plan. Do exactly nothing that will biologically address the problem. Fact.

Hey, theres a reason they work for kansas dwp.....

Odd that when pheasant numbers were down they didnt propose cutting the number of rooster.....

They realize the impact of these horrible hatches on future production. That's good .
Are we opening this can of worms again!?!?

What is MDC doing to address the problem? Nothing on their lands or anywhere else I see. Just letting it ride out and see what happens. If salt is so bad for cwd then why allow it throught the whole state? Most of their actions show they don't really know what they need to do in many situations. They are good at trapping and reintroducing animals but beyond that, I have seen little action that shows me otherwise. They care more about the non hunting population versus the hunting population now. Only 10% of people hunt so who is the majority of users of MDC land and facilities now?

Of course, but shooting males or having less males isnt going to make a difference. Thats why these morons work for kdwp.
