Really. So you're assuming they will test to find infected deer and turn them loose. That's quite the add on to the article. Lol

It removes deer that are pretending to be healthy. Lol

How is it a CWD study if they're not studying deer with CWD? Otherwise it's just a deer dispersal and movement study.

    Needmore, serious
In other words; they all have cwd, they just don't know it yet.

Seems kind of pessimistic to me.

So you, much like MDC are "assuming" they are sick... quite the add on !

We can play the word game all day !

Bottom line is the fact that there isn't an organization to date that has any idea how to manage CWD. The smoke and mirrors that have been put forward in the guise of a management plan thus far is laughable at best . Allowing people to consume or transport possible CWD positive meat/connective/skeletal tissue through the process of simply deboning and leaving the CNS system behind (brain and spinal cord) is bad advice.

Killing a whole bunch of healthy deer outside of the hunting seasons should slow the spread!

It is how you deal with disease exposure in animals. Has been done that way many times in history. People thinking it's unpleasant doesn't change it's effectiveness.

You missed the one where they said they were tracking cwd positive deer because it's not there.

No. You assume they are exposed and will get sick.

There isn't a word game. Just a bunch of childish adults trying to play one because they are unhappy with a harsh reality.

No. The response plan in Missouri and several other states is sound reasoning based on what is known about the disease at this point.

But then if someone can't even read an article about a study trying to learn more about deer movement patterns to try and learn how to combat the disease without adding words to it that aren't there it would be asking alot for them to understand reasoning. Lol

Can someone PLEASE point to another time where a disease if WILD ANIMALS was controlled or eliminated via killing and testing???

No one knows if the response plan in MO or several other states is working or not. All we know is that its moved farther, faster in MO than any other states.

Again, if its a "CWD STUDY" fhen they would have to be studying and tracking cwd deer. If they arent tracking cwd deer then its just a deer movement and dispersal study, which has beem done several times including 2 times currently here in MO. Simply adding "CWD" to the front of the name doesnt mean squat.

What's the name of the study Todd??? When someone can't read the TITLE of the article out of a study trying to learn more about deer movement patterns to try and learn how to combat the disease without adding words to it that ARE there it would be asking alot for them to understand reasoning. Lol[/QUOTE]

Especially when they refuse/read/comprehend the TITLE! You mind is already set and coming up with twisted rational before you read the title.

I see you can post it.... but did you comprehend it?

(effort to assess deer movement and distribution patterns and how they affect the spread of the disease in and around Clinton and Ingham counties).

They are trying to learn deer movement and densities. Not sick deer movement and densities. Where in the article does it say one word about tracking sick deer ?? You're adding that in. They are studying deer movement and that will tell them more about how the disease will move. It's not that hard to understand . Lol

Wonder If the Michigan study is based in MO where they could monitor deer movement after they have been hunted for 4.5 months then the MDC stages cornpiles and snipers.....it would be a brilliant plan to then to track the ones that don't get sniped that night and see how far they run!!!
