Concordia Oak

    three years ago I planted some Concordia oak bare root seedlings...I was shocked to watch this tree grow and produce acorns in three years. i'll be planting more of these oak tree, hope to save some acorns from this tree. 101_4045.JPG 101_4045.JPG 101_4045.JPG 101_4046.JPG

    A triple hybrid between chinquapin, dwarf chinquapin and swamp white oak evidently.

    Pretty neat there hannibal.

    The swamp white oak genes are strong in that hybrid...grows like a weed!!

    I have been planting a few trees, wish I would of done it 20 years ago.

    Have you planted any chestnuts?

    ordered some from mdc. will be planting in the spring along with 100 other seedlings

    yup, I put three in the yard Henry, I don't tell anyone my secret turkey huntin spots..LOL....I have chestnuts I started this year, got a few nice ones i'll plant them after they go dormant.

    MDC offered seedlings a few years ago. I got 10 which was the most they would let you have and have been very impressed with the growth and hardiness. Hope to take pruning cuttings next spring for rooting propagation.
