Had the biggest one I've had pics of at 10 yds this morning. Came across the field to my decoy but I couldn't get a clear shot as he came in head on to me. I'm not good enough to take that shot. Stood there for few minutes making a scrape then bolted straight away from me. Frustrating but neat encounter. Big ones are starting to move more on the daylight.
I had it facing quartering to me, like always, but I have 3 wide shooting lanes cut in the branches of the tree I'm in. I put the decoy at the most upwind lane about 25 yds away. He came from 150 yds away straight towards my tree never looking away from the decoy. He was trying to stay downwind of it. He stopped right under my tree so I couldn't draw. He finally spooked and ran straight away about 50 yds, looked back but then saw some other deer and went towards them. Like I said, frustrating
