they showed one picture on the podcast. I believe this was the buck that maybe Seth Turner shared. It was an Owensville buck, The hunter seems like a really good dude!

Why is it that people name a buck stuff like sparkplug, thumper, stomper, forkface, the wide 3 ( :D ) and so forth but when it gets killed, they name it after the murderer?

Naming deer most pathetic thing that has happened to hunting.

Just curious about your statement above - exactly why do you think people name their bucks?

I know why we do and will share as soon as you respond.

Killed right next to a conservation area. I bet that buck spent a lot of time on the area to. There is a shooting range close by and I went to shoot my deer rifle the weekend before rifle season. I shot my gun and left and thought I would just drive through there on my way back home and drove by the conservation parking lot and there wasn’t a soul there. He shot it on the Thursday evening before rifle season. I bet if a lot of people knew there was a buck of that caliber around there that parking lot would have been full.

If you lived in this area and didn't know about that buck, you had to have been living under a rock! :D

Everybody knew about Bigly. If anybody would have poached that deer, they would have been hanged in the middle of town! There was a 193" killed south of town that same year too. People thought that maybe that was Bigly, but that was a long ways off from where this deer lived.

Having 2500 acres next to conservation ground definitely helps!

The first pics I saw of the deer were game cam pics from somebody that lived in Osage or Marie's county. They were different than the ones that Chris got.

He named the deer Bigly since Trump used that word.

I found it interesting that the he got trail cam pics late the season prior that he killed it (what a stomper he was that year as well) but was tagged out, so he tried putting his dad on him...the year he killed him he didn't tell his brother or his DAD about him! if I heard right the only person he told was a neighbor landowner that he gave permission to on a 20 acre parcel. The neighbor said he would keep mum about him as he didn't want the trespassers and poachers around.

very good podcast, 1st one I ever listened to, yes I'm old!
How far from the oak creek ranch was this deer killed?
I am pretty sure if I ever kill a stomper it will have alluded me because of how smart he will have been.
