Great since you have belt loops you don’t have a use for a bump stock.
Exactly what I was thinking. My father in law was all for getting rid of bump fire stocks because of high rate of fire so I put out 10 cardboard man size targets at 30 yds and a 30 round mag with bump fire stock. Told him I bet you will be able to take them all out easy. He thought it was going to be easy. Needless to say he got 2 targets. The first one he shot at and about the 5 or 6 once he could control the recoil. Then I had him shoot them without bump fire stock and he hit them all fairly quick. He’s not into guns and don’t have a clue like most people that talk about things they know nothing about and made him a believer that bump fire stocks don’t allow you to kill any faster. Another ignorant gun law.
You don’t need to be accurate when shooting into a crowd.
On the fed level maybe but this opens door for states to demand turn in or destroy without compensation
To reduce it to the lowest common denominator, something is going to have to be made to pay. Bump stocks are the easiest whipping boy to take it out on. Even though I have no desire to own a bump stock or an AR I don't like it or agree with it but, it will happen. Rather than address the real problem, a problem the left has created, it's just one more wedge they want to drive into the block to separate Americans from their freedom and, the ignorance of the population at large will not only allow it but demand it.
10 targets at thirty yards is different than a wall of people . And a belt loop hardly allows you to aim out a 30 story window .
Pretty much my thoughts as well.
Exactly ,I don't own or want a bs but when it comes to whittling what will be lowest denominator next? Over 10 round mags ? AR s ? pistol grips? OK you don't have any of those but sooner or later what you do have will be on the chopping block.
No doubt of that Ozark. The ultimate goal of the left is total and complete confiscation. Given the direction the country has gone in the last 50 years I fear that will become a reality. Probably not in my life time but some day the policies of the left, if allowed to continue, will achieve that goal.
My point was the spray and pray method is not as effective as people think. Someone that knows how to shoot can do more damage than some idiot with a bump fire stock. It’s like if anyone has ever hunted duck or quail and when a bunch of birds are coming in a lot of hunters will just shoot into the flock and might get lucky on a bird. If you pick out one and shoot you will kill more birds than the person just spraying and praying. It’s not guns that need to be taken away. Our justice system is a joke, no such thing as a family like there use to be, no discipline in kids, and too much political correctness. Anyway our world is definitely changing and not for the better. We need to arm more sensible, law abiding people so when little Johnny doesn’t get his way and feels like he needs to take people lives there’s someone there to stop him. But if someone wants to kill a bunch of people no one will be able to stop him.
Agree on all accounts.
I agree to a point. But still think lame belt loop excuses doesn't do anything to deter the opposition. It makes the pro gun side look foolish.
On a side note ,, I wish whoever is in charge
of the site would get whatever is causing typing posts in from a phone a challenge in unspelled words fixed. I can watch words I typed correctly turn into nonwords . If you get one letter fat fingered there is no telling what it will type. Sometimes I can tap the shortcut and it will throw in a nonword instead of what I tapped. Lol. It's not my phone because the spelling on my email and texts are working fine.
Well done !
Have you ever personally fired a bump stock to know how erratic and inaccurate they are or do you just go by propaganda? They really are just a novelty. I feel like with an m4 variant and bump stock it's super erratic even pointed at a crowd. With a scoped mk12 a person could easily go 30 for 30...
The Vegas shootings tends to show that a shouldered weapon aimed on the general direction of a crowd can hurt a lot of people. Rate of fire allowing bunches of bullets to bounce off of concrete probably aided in that body count.
If they are just a novelty then shouldn't we be willing to sacrifice that to the anti gun agenda so they can claim a victory? In reality we know it won't make a difference. I'm not for gun control, but they will get something out of this and I'd as soon it be something that really has no impact on my rights.
I don't want to sacrifice anything, however, there is going to be a sacrificial lamb. If I thought for a minute fighting the left on this was going to make a difference I'd go down with the ship but, it isn't just the left this time. I fear this one is a losing battle. As much as I hate it I'm afraid 90 is right. We might have to go along but we can let it be known we don't like it and draw a line in the sand.
I agree, but I believe they will get something and it would be better to control what's given. If we make bumpstops that line in the sand, we could lose badly.
Here is the way I look at it. They are a device designed to simulate the action of a fully automatic weapon which we have not been able to own without jumping through hoops our entire lives. Outlawing them will get widespread support from both sides because of it.
