What sort of “bad experience” did you have?
Had two 165 grain sst out of a 30-06 explode on impact with no penetration at 200 yards on a neck shot then had another blow through the ribs like a full metal jacket at 70 yards 3 shots on two different deer deer just worries meWhat sort of "bad experience" did you have?
The 243 is what turned me onto the Sierra bthp game kings they work great in it!Sierra game kings have worked well for me in my 270. "Downsizing" to a 243 this year due to a shoulder issue, but will stick with the Sierra game kings. :elmer:
The two that blew up were from the same box of 100 and were shot by my best friend who I load for I shot one out of the same box and it worked prefect so after having the two not act right bought a new box for last year and the only deer we killed was the one that penciled throughSixkiller were all three of those rounds from the same box of ammo? Seems strange that 2 would blow up like a varmint round and the other would blow clean thru and not expand like a FMJ.
I used to use Barnes and had some great success but some instances where it left a small hole through and through almost like it was so hard it didn't expand.Maybe was shooting the wrong type idk.I switched to a hollow pointed design that is copper with a lead core and have had nothing run from them. All the energy transfer occurs in the cavity and the wound channels are something out of a horror filmCopper monolithic solids all day. Barnes, Federal Trophy Copper, Hornady GMX, etc. Don't know why anyone would still hunt with lead unless it was a shotgun slug.
Then he wouldn't have a reason to have that fancy 6.5.Maybe move your stand closer to the crossing ....just a thought
.30 cal is all a man needs really.Everything else is just to shoot something else and to be stubbornThen he wouldn't have a reason to have that fancy 6.5.
People need to improve on the 30 cal you know.
