Bought a new rifle Saturday, Browning BAR Shortrac Stalker 300WSM. Anybody ever shot one? Never owned one, didn't need another rifle, but a fella can never have enough rifles sitting in the safe. I'm actually thinking about hunting with it this year. I'm having a Vortex Crossfire 4x12x50 put on it. I pick it up Saturday. Thoughts and opinions please
I have a 300wsm in a savage. It’s very particular what ammo I use. It shoots it all well but different ammo groups in different areas. I use Winchester supreme but I have shot federal and it was 6” low and 6” right but nice tight groups with both.
I have a BAR in 30/06 that I've had since I was 16, so 28 years now. It is a bonafide deer killer. I have many other deer rifles, but more often than not I find myself grabbing that one every season.
I had a BLR in 300WSM, it was a very accurate rifle.
I swapped it out for a BLR in 308WIN, just because 300WSM on ****** is a bit overkill and a waste of powder..... It's a sub moa shooter with my handloads. Browning is making some fine rifles these days, always was a Browning Shotgun guy, but now I like their rifles too.
