A friend of mine recommends me using smoke colored braided line on my spinning reels for trout. I don't have a fly rod so, a spinning outfit is all I use. wouldn't the trout see the line? Or should I stick to my Lo-Vis green Trileen.
Also, he said nothing of using a leader on the braided line, just tie directly to it.

What do you think?

I was just wondering if the trout would see the braided line.
I'm more into small stream fishing for smallies and have only been trout fishing a few times. I know how good the green Trilene works for the bass. One thing I would like to comment on about trout though is when you get a good one on, they sure put up a nice fight. I'm impressed!

At Taneycomo I use 6 or 8 pound lo-vis green for larger fish when I use Rappalas. Use the same in 2 or 4 for the dings when I fish with jigs.

we just came back from there. had a heck of a time at first until we were told the way, use a 3 way swivel with a weight on on side about a foot down and 3 ft leader (2lb) on the bait side and we fished with powerbait balls.
