I took the new toy to the range today. shot it 4 times and threw an acceptable group.
I was pumped, last nite I had to get my gear together late, since the wife and I went out for dinner. Checked my box and sure enough there was my all the stuff one could need for a fun day at the range!I get to the range and I get out the powder and make up a few loads waiting to set up my targets and I get out my capper and see that there are about 5 caps and look at the box of CCIs, Oh crap they're #10s not my #11s.:fart: Doesn't make any sense because I use Remington #10s on my pistol and CCI 11s on my rifles.
Well, I know I've got 5 in my capper so I'll take a few shots anyway. The range is closed so I go set my targets at the 50yd line. Range is now hot so I load up and let fly with a squibb load. I shoot 4 times and can't see the danged target well enough to find my group. Forgot my spotting scope, gotta wait on the range master to call a cease fire. I go down and get my targets and I'm thinking that if the group isn't too bad I'll try those #10s, what the heck.
I've got a group 7"s low and 3.25" right. :boohoo: with one flyer. But the good news is the group was a perfect isocoles triangle with 1&3/8" across the base and 7/8" on the sides. Acceptable for open sights and 50 year old eyes:rotfl: I packed it up and will get the correct #11s and try it again!
